Some houses contain secrets. This one keeps them alive.
Lucie is beginning her training as a home-care assistant when her rounds take her to an isolated mansion and its sole resident: Mrs Jessel, an elderly woman lying motionless in a coma.
During her visit, Lucie hears rumours of a fortune hidden somewhere inside. Unable to resist the possibility of easy money, she returns that night with her friends to search for it… But the house is far from empty.
From Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, the filmmakers behind Inside (À l’intérieur), Livid is a beautiful and macabre gothic nightmare filled with haunting and supernatural horror.
This English-language novelization brings their dark fairy tale to the page, inviting readers to step inside Mrs Jessel’s house and discover what has been waiting there.
Some treasures were hidden for a reason.
