Los Angeles, 1948. Everyone used magic.

A horror-fantasy detective comedy set in an alternate Los Angeles where magic is ubiquitous. Private investigator H. Phillip Lovecraft, the only human who stubbornly refuses to use magic, is hired by a wealthy client to retrieve the stolen Necronomicon.

He soon discovers that multiple parties are vying for the mystical tome, including a ruthless gangster who happens to be Lovecraft’s former partner, with plans to use its dark curses to summon the “Great Old Ones” and conquer the world.

Jeremiah Dylan Cook is a horror writer whose debut collection, A Mythos of Monsters of Madness, was released in September 2025. His short stories have been published by The NoSleep Podcast, Castle Bridge Media, Tales to Terrify, Ghost Orchid Press, Scary Dairy Press, Cabbit Crossing Publishing, Timber Ghost Press, The Lovecraft eZine, Hippocampus Press, Necronomicon Press, and Eye Contact. He won Purple Wall Stories February 2021 Writing Competition, and the Ligonier Valley Writers 2018 Flash Fiction Contest. While pursuing his bachelor’s degree at St. John’s University, Jeremiah received the Mario Mezzacappa Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry and Prose. He completed his Master of Fine Arts in Writing Popular Fiction at Seton Hill University. Jeremiah is the Managing Editor of New Pulp Tales.
